Do you always feel rushed, miserable and hurrying from one thing to another? Does life seem to be passing you by? If you need help managing your time better, this article is for you. The tips below are sure to teach you the right way to plan each day more effectively.

When you find yourself constantly late and missing deadlines, consider getting a bigger clock and putting it in a place where it stares you down all the time. Studies show that when people can see a clock during the day, they mentally gravitate toward more time-saving efforts! Try this at home and the office to better manage your time.

An area that many people have trouble with in time management is setting deadlines. You have to set deadlines and stick to them. Any task you have is going to take a certain amount of time and if you have a deadline for your tasks, your life will run smoothly.

Keep a diary of how you are spending your time. Do this for about 3 days. You will be able to see what you are spending time on. You can then determine what is necessary to spend time doing and what isnt necessary. Figure out how to manage your time better.

Create a to-do list every morning before you begin your work. Sometimes time is eaten up in the day simply because you dont have a plan. Even a light sketch of a plan, like a simple to-do list is enough to save you precious minutes, even hours, during the day.

If you have problems with time management, increase how much you focus. You cannot do everything the right way when you are multi-tasking with too many things. If you try to do a lot, you may suffer. Concentrate on breathing, relaxing and focusing on only one prodject until it is finished, then proceed to the next.

Try to avoid answering the phone or e-mails just because they ring or appear. If you can, try disabling or disconnecting instant messaging. You dont need to instantly give people attention unless its essential to the instant human response aspect of your business. You should try scheduling time for returning calls and answering emails.

Break down your tasks into smaller ones. Sometimes having a big task or project that is big can be overwhelming. Instead of getting overwhelmed, think of the task in smaller parts and work on each smaller part. This can help keep you focused and help you use your time wisely.

Close the door to your office so you arent disturbed while you work. Your co-workers and superiors will likely treat an open door as a sign that youre available to discuss new work or take on new responsibilities. A closed door signals you need privacy. People will know that you dont want to be disturbed, and they will be more likely to leave you alone.

Exercise

Rather than taking public transportation to work or driving, walk or ride your bike if the distance is not too far. This is a good way to work an exercise routine into your day without taking extra time to do it. Of course, getting to work will take a little longer, so make sure you allow time for that.

Nutrition

In order to manage your time well, youve got to manage your health well. Studies show that people who dont get proper sleep or nutrition dont function as well throughout the day. When every minute counts, you want to be on top of your game. Eating and sleeping well is half the battle!

If you are worried that your hectic lifestyle is causing you to miss lifes most precious moments, you are not alone. However, by applying the time management concepts presented above, there is something you can do about it. Review the information regularly to ensure that you are squeezing the most enjoyment possible out of life.
